Hi. When you are filling in a personal you can get to choose you postal code from a list which gives you your location. But how do you get the chosen post code to give you your location? Are they linked with a database or something
@hastxOct 23.2007 — #Yes. Postal (or zip) codes, should be unique, which makes them good keys with which to search info associated with them. Large cities can have 20 zip codes.
Upon submitting a zip code, you could run a query to find city, area codes, phone prefixes, county, or usernames listed with that zip. Or, you could do a "search for a store in your area" with zip codes, and since they are short standardized strings, it lessens the potential for spelling errors such as in large city names.
