Need reliable web software for members website

I am recreating a members, subscription site. One of the main tools the owner wants to offer, is when a person registers, that a simple subsite is created with their membership. This ‘member site’ will offer them a front page, blog and a way to publish their poetry for review (it is a poets website).

I have used Mambo in the past, but I wasn’t sure if it offered the ability to automatically create a subsite for a registered member.

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
