Help Creating a Search Engine for a Database with a drop-down box…

What I would like to do is I have a database with various fields and I would like to create a webbased search for this database so that I can select which field I would like to search by with a drob-down box then I type the text I would like to search for and it will return all the records with the matching text in that field. Example:

Database Example

First Name Last Name Address Phone
J*** L**** 123*** 123-456-9088

The drop down would allow me to choose whether I would want to search by:
First Name
Last Name
Addres
Phone

And when I enter the text in the text box and click submit it will find all the records with the matching text in that field. Please Help, definately total noob when it comes to ASP or any dynamic web content. Much appreciated.
