How do I filter read and unread files?

I receive request and I want to be able to filter the request that I have read and the unread request. How do i go about making this work??

@axiom82Sep 11.2007 — Store your requests in a MySQL database. Include a boolean field named "read" in a table named "request".

Here is the query you want:

$query = mysql_query ("SELECT * FROM request WHERE read='no' ");

OR

$query = mysql_query ("SELECT * FROM request WHERE read='yes' ");
