@KDLAAug 01.2007 — Advice: Learn code -- don't rely on a program to do it for you. Then it doesn't matter what environment you must function in.

@gizmoAug 01.2007 — Front Page turns out garbage that only IE understands. I suggest that if you have access to Dreamweaver that you use that until you know enough to do your own coding. Use a modern browser, such as Firefox for testing and use some of the many available optional extras such as the web designers toolbar and firebug.

@CentauriAug 03.2007 — When used as a WYSIWYG generator, Dreamweaver can produce nearly as much garbage as FrontPage (not quite as much, but nearly). As KDLA said, learn html and css coding, then use software to assist. There are plenty of html editors out there, but I find Dreamweaver to be an excellent tool for assisting and speeding up said code writing.

@felgallAug 03.2007 — Frontpage is so bad that even Microsoft have abandoned supporting it.

Used properly Dreamweaver can be an excellent assistant for developing web pages. Used incorrectly it can produce garbage more quickly than hand coding can.

To be able to use any web editor properly you really need a proper understanding of the code yourself. Even if you get an editor building the code for you it will not always get the code right and you will need to manually edit the code to fix it.

@jlryanAug 04.2007 — I would get Dreamweaver, but don't shy away from Code View. I always have Design View and Code View open on my screen.
