Locked textarea?

Is there anyway to have a text area with scroll bars embedded in my page that users can’t type into?

I want a lot of text displayed in a small area and can’t afford any more html pages in the site.

@pyroAug 17.2003 — You can use the readonly attribute (readonly="readonly") to make a textarea that is not editabled or you can use a <div> with the overflow set to auto (CSS): style="overflow:auto;"
