Host Question

Hello,

My company intends to build a database driven website using (as far as I know), PHP, MS Access and Colfusion.

We are in a situation where we have to buy the website space now (a grant is due to expire). I’m no web developer, somebody else is working on it – but could somebody have a look at this deal for me?

The deal we’re thinking about is under ‘Unlimited’

I just want to know if its suitable for a dynamic website, with user accounts and streaming media.

We’re open to suggestions if anybody has some advise too!

I know its database software because I've been on their website. But there's monthly/ anual subscriptions if I'm correct? What can it do that Access can't?

PHP is not a problem, but is there freeware alternatives to MySQL?

@ray326Jan 31.2007 — MySQL is a database server. Access is a database client that typically runs against a non-server data management application called Jet (the ubiquitous *.mdb files). Jet should not be used for multi-threaded server applications like web applications. It's a single user personal productivity tool.
