How to adjust webpage to be printable in portrait, not landscape

I have created a couple of websites. I now have a problem with some pages on my last project. they fit the screen perfectly, but when they are printed, landscape has to be used instead of portrait. how can i fix this. I am refering to fixing the webpage, not the printer settings. tables are used on one of the pages. Thanks for your help.

@sinciliteDec 09.2006 — You can use a print style sheet to change the css for printing I dont know how much help that would be to you though.

It's not that the website is broken or needs fixing it simply that printing from the web can be a little hit and miss if you dont plan for it.

@felgallDec 09.2006 — To be able to have all of your pages print properly with portrait orientation you need to make sure that the content will fit within a 730 pixel width. Any wider and some printers with wide margins will lopp off the right hand edge. Any wider than 770 pixels and almost all printers will lose some of what is at the right. If your pages can display in that width then you don't need to do anything special for printing. If they don't fit that width then those using 800x600 screen resoltuion wont see the page properly either so it is probably worth fixing the page so it displays properly in that width all the time rather than just for printing.
