I preload the thumbnails and first image in the <Head> secition using javascript. This is to quickly display these items. The rest, I don’t want to preload in the same way because I want it to have the apperance that the gallery has loaded so that people don’t leave. In the background the rest of the images will continue to load. The reason for preloading is because I have a fade effect between images.
To load the remaining images I use the <div class=”hidden”> method and list <IMG> tages in this area.
If I remove class=”hidden” then in opera the images load and show in succession. The fade effect works. If i add class=”hidden” the images of course do not show, but they neigher load invisibly (the images x/x icon does not list them). What is going on and why won’t Opera work?
As a side note, when I run the website on Opera off my harddrive instead of online I do not have this problem. Can anyone help?
