Website looks good in Opera, but pants in IE

Hadesgate.co.uk

This website of mine looks good in Opera, but rubbish in IE. In particular the pages Pens At Dawn and Submissions look horribly wrong in IE!

But they look fine in Dreamweavert as well, so I don’t know what to change or what to do etc.

Can someone help me please? Why is going wrong in IE?

EDIT: It looks fine in Firefox too.

@_lt_Eddie_gt_Oct 08.2006 — The tables you're using for your layout are inconsistent across all the pages. The attributes don't match up so every page jumps. Either you need to settle the values or use CSS to layout the content which is by far the best method.

@DemonauthorOct 08.2006 — Thanks Eddie!

I'll take a look at the values. I'm not sure how to use CSS to layout the content. I know how to use CSS for background/font/links etc, but not layout. Could ou explain that a little more for me please, if you don't mind.
