How do I take a ‘Screenshot’ ?

Could someone tell me how I take a ‘Screenshot’ of a web page so I can email it ? I can’t find an obvious button on my keyboard.

Thanks.

@JPnycAug 23.2006 — print screen, then paste into any graphics program, or html email client. Or if you just want the active window, ctrl-alt-print screen

@pcthugAug 23.2006 — As JP explained; Use the print screen button. It is usually located towards the right of the Function (F1, F2, F3..) Keys.

@smokerauthorAug 23.2006 — Hi guys.

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately I can't get the PrtScr button to work.

It has PrtScr at the top of the button and SysRq underneath. I have tried all kind of things but nothing happens, any more ideas ?

Thanks

@sridhar_423Aug 23.2006 — press "Alt" and "PrintScreen/SysRq" button simultaneously.

Then open Paint brush, and press "ctrl" and "v" simultaneously.

If the screen is not pasted in the paint brush window, then I guess you shud get your key board cleaned .. plenty of dust might have accumulated in it .. ?

@Tweak4Aug 23.2006 — It might be worthing bringing up a fine point of screen capturing.

In windows, the Print Screen button will create an image of your desktop and copy it to the clipboard. From there, you need to paste the newly created image into a program that can accept graphic content (a graphics program, html-email client, word processor, etc). You will never see the captured image until you actually paste it somewhere, so if nothing happens when you hit Print Screen, don't be suprised.

Alt + Print Screen does the same thing as Print Screen by itself, except that while Print Screen alone will capture your entire desktop, Alt + Print Screen will limit the capture to just the active window.

If you have a multimedia keyboard with an "F Lock" key you have to make sure F Lock is off before you can print screen. Then open up the website press the PrtScn button, open MS Paint (or whatever) and paste. Then save the image.

well, there is another way to capture the images you want...Maybe you should try some screen capture software such as ACA capture PRO or

screenhunter.....i think the professional screen capture program can solve your screen capture issues well.

as far as i am concerned, i prefer aca ACA capture, it is pretty good .....
