background colours will not display in Safari

Hi,

I’ve tried everything to get my page colour backgrounds to display in Safari, but so far no luck. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the CSS I’m currently using:

a:link {
text-decoration: none;
color: #666666;
}

a:visited {
color: #666666;
text-decoration: none;
}

a:hover {
color: #008484;
text-decoration: none;
}

a:active {
color: #666666;
text-decoration: none;
}
.textSeparator {
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
color: #333333;
font-size: 10px;
font-weight: normal;
}
.footerText {
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 10px;
color: #666666;
}
.linksText {
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 11px;
color: #666666;
}
.listText {
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 11px;
color: #666666;
}
.bodyText {
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 11px;
color: #666666;
background-color: #E5E5E5;
}
.thumbnailText {
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 9px;
color: #008888;
}
.portraitNameText {
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 12px;
color: #666666;
}
.portraitBackground {
background-color: #FFFFFF;
}
.testimonialText {
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 9px;
color: #336666;
}
.bodyBackground {
background-color: #E5E5E5;
}

Also, I’m including my web address: http://www.lucisdesign.com

Thank you!

Gareth ?

@toicontienJul 10.2006 — From the look of your code, I can't see why it wouldn't be working. And by page "background colors," do you mean all of them specified in your CSS file? This is going to sound like an off-the-wall suggestion, but try holding down the shift key when clicking the refresh button.

I constantly have to remind my Safari-using coworkers to shift refresh after I change a style sheet and they visit the page and go "you didn't change anything" :p

Shift refreshing pulls the web page and all its files down from the network, rather than using the cached files. You may be running into a problem of editing a CSS file and then not seeing the changes. Could you also post a screenshot if shift refreshing doesn't work?

@Gareth48authorJul 10.2006 — Thank you for replying!

Since I use a PC there is no way for me to do a browser check on Safari. If you use Safari or know someone who does would you be willing to check into this for me since from your perspective the CSS seems to be in order.

Thanks again!

Gareth

You the man. You learn something every day. Solved my problem but sorry Gareth I don't have Safari so can't be of help.
