User Login Fails, Application based on PHP 5.1.2 and MySQL 5.0.19

Hi,

I am a Novice User in world of PHP and MySQL.

I have a small application called [COLOR=Blue]Enterprise Payroll System[/COLOR] downloaded from Source Forge site, freeware.

Platform : Windows XP Prof.
Database: MySQL 5.0.19-nt
PHP : 5.1.2 for windows.

(PHP and MySQL is running perfectly fine and excellent, tested with test pages.)

I have carried installatio exactly as per readme file, but I am [B]facing following problem.[/B]

=> [U]Whenever I try to login into the application using my Web Browser pointed to admin/login page, I am able to receive a proper login prompt, But whenever I type in the said usernameassword combination as per the readme file, i get [/U][COLOR=Red]“User login failed”[/COLOR]. I have checked the user and password field specified in the MySQL Database entry, its exactly as Iam typing out, further to screw up my problem, this application has IP based authentication, because of which I have kept the same IP as specified in database, but also tried changing it, but still NO SUCESS.

I had initial problems while importing the filename.sql file also, but later I figured out after googling that it was due to the DEFAULT NULL statement in conjuction with auto_increment which is not supported by MySQL ver 5.0. SO, I have cleared that but, Now I am waiting for PHP /MySQL Community to help me. Iam Novice in this field, Can someone help me Please. I am similiar problem with another PHP application, but some work fine, so I am not able to figure out, what other settings are necessary to be done. ?
