Marquees – getting them to stop scrolling

I’ve done this before but it was a very long time ago.

What I am looking to do is to cause the marquee to stop scrolling while the user has their mouse pointer over the marquee area. My HTML book mentions just about everything with marquees but it doesn’t mention how to do what I am looking to do.

Would I be required to write a JavaScript for this?

@felgallApr 06.2006 — Since the only way to produce a cross-browser marquee is to use Javascript then yes you would need Javascript to make one that will stop on mouseover. See http://javascript.about.com/library/bltick1.htm for my marquee script that automatically stops on mouseover.

Or just use a browser that doesn't recognise the marquee tag - there are lots of them out there because it isn't a standard tag.
