php.ini not being loaded… help

Hi all,

I am trying to figure out why editing php.ini doesn’t seem to be doing jack.

Here is my configure line:

[code]./configure –prefix=/usr –includedir=/usr/include –with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs –with-gd –with-jpeg –with-zlib –enable-magic-quotes –with-regex=system –enable-xml –enable-ftp –disable-debug –with-pdflib-dir=/usr/lib –with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql –with-freetype-dir=/usr/lib –enable-gd-native-ttf –enable-gd-imgstrttf –with-ttf –with-calendar –with-config-file-path=/etc/php.ini[/code]

When I edit /etc/php.ini and I restart apache, non of my changes take effect. Does anyone have ANY ideas on what I can do or look into?

from the command line. Maybe the "in-use" php.ini file is not in /etc

whereis php.in returned this:

php: /usr/bin/php /etc/php.ini /usr/lib/php /usr/local/bin/php /usr/local/lib/php /usr/include/php /usr/share/php /opt/lampp/bin/php /usr/man/man1/php.1

Any more ideas?

@WebnerdMar 13.2006 — Do you have another php version installed on the server? I ran into a problem like this when we had 2 different installs of PHP on a server. Try running "php -v" from the shell prompt and compare it against what "you think" is installed. There might be a conflict.
