Could someone tells me why the following code is not working? It doesn’t let me use the “||” ?

var day = current_date.getDate();
var dayS = day;

dayS += ((day = 2 || day = 22) ? “nd” : “”);

but if I break it out to the following then it works.

dayS += ((day = 2) ? “nd” : “”);
dayS += ((day = 22) ? “nd” : “”);

@MongusMar 03.2006 — Double equals (==) is the equality operator in JavaScript. Single equals is an assignment.

Try this:dayS += ((day == 2 || day == 22) ? "nd" : "");

@quadocauthorMar 03.2006 — Thanks Mongus! That is exactly right.
