Netscape 7.2 problem with overflow:auto; and z-index

I’m using a css dropdown menu where the menu overlaps a div to the right of it. The div has a style of overflow: auto. I have the menu set up as a vertical menu. I set the menu to have position of absolute with z-index:10 so that it layers above other divs. The menu displays when you hover over the first level buttons but as soon as you roll into the secondary menu which overlaps the div with overflow: auto;, the menu disappears. The problem is the overflow:auto; which needs to be in the div but if you take overflow:auto; out, the menu works.

The menu currently does not work in Netscape 7.2 and Firefox 1.0.7.
It works on IE, Firefox 1.5.0.1, and Safari.

If anyone has run into anything like this and may have a solutions, please let me know. You can view the menu at: http://www.holiday-pools.com/. This problem only occurs on pages with the Gallery.
