scaling heights of relative <div>’s

well Gurus of CSS funk,
i have one last question that has been gnawing at my hind quarters for quite some time:
is it possible to have the HEIGHT setting of a DIV to be relative to the HEIGHT setting of another DIV? This comes up when i want a DIV’s content to expand to match the height of another DIV that changes the amount of space needed to display its content.

here’s a graphical example of my quandry:

@bathurst_guyFeb 19.2006 — You can search google for faux columns and depending on what it is exactly you are having in the background of the navigation and focus you can do it that way
