adding a space into php drop down menu

i have a drop down menu using php in my site

echo “<option value=”.$row[‘username’].”>”.$row[‘first_name’].$row[‘last_name’].”</option>”;]

how can i put a space betwwen the firstname and lastname as its just appearing as JoeBloggs at the moment, cheers for any help
