html link and parent frame.

hi all,
I have to link a independent html application from my page.htm html page.
I am using < A HREF… target =”_blank”></a>.

The target application has got a parent page main.htm which has all the variable declaration and javascript routines but since I have given the <a href > link the target application is considering my page page.htm as parent and giving errror since it is not able to find the routines.

Is there any way by which I can independly open the application by link and the parent of the target does not get afftected.
