Client Side Upload from Browser.

I’ve been giving free access to a FTP site, but I’ve run into some issues lately from some users due to my lack of security.

In order to solve the problem, I want to use a form in which the user can select the file he wants to upload using his browser. I’d love to have an option that enables the user to select to which folder he’ll upload, but it’s not required.
I’ve found an open source that would enable to upload the files, but it’s using asp and I’m on a linux server ? . So I’m still looking, but I don’t even know what this type of program is called. I’d really apreciate any help.

My programming skills are weak. I can edit and change a program to make it work, but creating it without someone holding my hand is pretty much out of the question.
