Google Issue

Gooday folks, I am quite new to search engine and just started learn a few things on how to improve my ranking on the search engine world. I have the following websites: http://www.yourcityguide.info and http://www.awgdesign.com

I’ve spent alot of hours on the former and it paid off for some of the keywords I used in Yahoo, MSN, Altavista and Alltheweb, but my website is nowhere to be seen in google. I know I am listed, but I suppose not rank very well.

On the later website google displayed under construction and I know the website is not. Some months google display the proper title and description in the listings and some just the under constructions. I am not sure why this is the case. I have read lots of info on the web and came across the google sandbox and maybe I am in there. This has been like this for over a year now.

If anyone out there have any suggestions please let me know and any feedback about the websites is greatly appriciated and I thank you all in advance.

@j-khoaJan 29.2006 — That is really odd, the same case with some of my client's websites. They report the same problem. I still unsure of the exact cause, but after the PR update it seemed back to normal. So really just get it some time and I suppose it should fix itself.

@pcthugJan 29.2006 — Well google shows that no sites link to awgdesign.com; click here to see for yourself.

If Google knows of no links to your site it is very unlikely that it will revist that page anytime soon,

When was the last time you asked google to spider your site? If it was more then a month ago; Try again (*Don't submit more then once a month, as Google counts that as Spamming)

And try getting some more inbound links, as this is the best way to get googlebot to frequent your site.

@speedyauthorJan 29.2006 — Thanks for the info guys, I know I dont have that many inbound links from google, but there are few results from yahoo and msn. My main concern was that google showing under construction. I have checked in the last few days and it is showing the proper title and description, but yesterday it went back to under construction and yet today back to normal again. I am trying to get more inbound links.

I thought you only need to submit your site once to google? I did not realised that you can do it more than once without being penalised.
