Install Java in my Server

HI:
I need help, I install Java in my server (is a dedicate server). But I dont know how to start the program. The only way that I have access to my server is by comand line, the server has Suse 9 OS. Plese this is important because I need to install a new software in the server and the first step is with a .JAR file.
