Image Switcher Script Bugs

I have setup an image gallery for a photographer and it’s working for the most part but I’m having a little bug. You can see it at the following link

When you click one of the thumbnails on the sides of the middle picture, it changes the picture in the middle. Some of the pictures are larger than they need to be so I have them dynamically resized to be 600px max. The problem is that whenever the new picture is selected, the old picture is stretched to the new picture size until the new picture is loaded. I hope that makes sense. Any ideas on how I can correct this?
