I know a local variable isn’t available inside a function unless you make it so, and usually the best way to use a local variable inside a function is to pass its value with an argument. But how about $_SERVER, $_COOKIE, $_GET, etc.? Can code inside a function always read those?
@bokehJan 12.2006 — #Yes! This is a 'superglobal', or automatic global, variable. This simply means that it is available in all scopes throughout a script. You don't need to do a global $_SERVER; to access it within functions or methods
