more advanced slideshow…

ok so i need to do a slideshow but want to avoid frames and cookies.

is there a way to make your entire page refresh as the new image cycles?

i dont want to do a meta refresh because then it just gets stuck on the first image over and over.

im thinking of doing a succession of html pages with each page referring to another, and manually typing in each following page, however that leads to problems dealing with changing speed in page changes and if i actually want to stop the images.

it also needs to prefetch but that doesnt really seem like a big problem once i solve this.

@FromU2MEJan 09.2006 — There are a few slideshows (I believe ALL slideshows written in JavaScript) where you don't need to refresh the page - have you checked www.dynamicdrive.com who offer lots of slideshows?

Anyways, do you mean that the URL in the location-bar should change? That's not really possible if you don't want to move from the current page...
