change from .html to .php

i have a site that is 100% .html i would like to know how to change to .php. i was wondering if i could just change the extension only. thanks in advance

ok i was told i have to have .php, if i want this login script to work the way how i really want it to work,thats why i was asking. anyhelp would be appreciated.

@balloonbuffoonJan 08.2006 — Oh, then yes, it should have a .php extension. Plus you need to make sure your host has php installed.

@felgallJan 08.2006 — If you are adding PHP to all of your pages and are using Apache based web hosting then if you add the following line into the .htaccess file then you wont need to rename the pages.

AddType application/x-httpd-php .html
