Web Page Photo Galleries

Hi everyone,

I am fairly new to this so I am hoping someone can help me. I can create a photo gallery for the web but I would like to create this gallery within the framework of an existing web template rather than within pre-generated web pages built by the tool.

I don’t seem to be able to do this in photoshop or any other tool i can find .. Can anyone give me some advise please.

Many Thanks

Bes Regards David

@UbikDec 19.2005 — I like http://jalbum.net/

Spits out bad code, with the default templates, but you can write your own templates with good code.

@braveorangeDec 20.2005 — You can do the same with Photo Shaman as well. First create the page with the look you want and then turn it into a template. The program has a powerfull gallery template scripting engine with the idea similar to PHP but using the BASIC syntax. Write us if you have more technical questions.

Hi David,

If I understood your question right, I went through using a photo-gallery tool, and didn't like certain things about the results. Also, I found the resulting page very tough to edit and have it come out right.

Then I got lucky, found these forums, and hied me to the CSS forum, where I learned to lay out a photo gallery using CSS (of course with HTML code to underlie the CSS).

Doing things that way has given me great flexibility with managing photo galleries; I made my own template with lots and lots of help from these forums, and the galleries work really easily. So, my suggestion is to hie thee to the CSS forum and start asking around, and if you need to, also to the HTML forum.

@isdcu4authorDec 20.2005 — Hi carol,

Thanks for this. I have found thatJalbum works , but as stated spits out bad code. I have created style sheet and used it to control the template with abs pos. Result looks pretty good. Many Thanks.
