Question of content in tables

This is a question I got asked, and I’ll pass it on to you.

If you have a table containing a column of numbers, with the sum in the footer, could you enter a formula that adds up the numbers, instead of simply typing in the sum?

@NogDogDec 16.2005 — Not via HTML. I'm sure there's some way via JavaScript, and I know you could do it server-side (PHP, ASP, Perl, etc.).

@CharlesDec 16.2005 — You could also do it in XHTML served as XML and an XSL stylesheet.
