I recently pulled a javascript from the ‘htmlgoodies’ website that is meant to open up a new window with an image in it and a button to “close window.” After fiddling with it for some time, I finally got it to work. I’ve never messed with javascript before, I just knew the code was out there to do what I wanted. It’s not even an automatic opening of a window. The user will have to click on a button that says “View image” to even get the pop-up window.
When I went to test it in IE, I get the marvelous “error” from IE saying that it has “restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer.” As far as I know, this file doesn’t do anything like that!! When I played with it on the ‘htmlgoodies’ site, I didn’t get that error in IE. So, why is it pitching a fit when I try to use the same code?!
When I keep telling IE to allow the code to work, it works perfect! It’s just that IE is pitching an overprotective fit! As this is for an ecommerce site, that’s not acceptable. If it’s doing it to me, then it will do it to someone else. Is there something wrong with the code? Or is it just IE being nuts? Also, if it’s IE being nuts, how can I make it stop doing that?!
Thanks!!
