Major?

Well im a sophmore and a Computer Science Major. I’ve never done anything with programming and thought it would be fun since I like wedpage design and etc.. Well come to find out after Intro to C, I hate it, and I wanna switch my major.

What majors are assoc. with web development? Is it CIS? My school is kinda screwy because im in for gerneral transfers (going the cheap route). What did some of you major in, in school? Any info would heeeeeelpp, because my only option is a advisor almost 2 hours away and she didn’t know what the hell she was talking about. ><

@Jeff_MottDec 15.2005 — Yeow, Web development is (or at least should) be split into coding and designing. Each requires a different skill and even a different side of the brain. Coding requires logical thinking and will eventually require delving into full programming languages for server-side development. Site design requires an artistic mind and a skill in graphic design. If you want to do Web development while avoiding any programming then you will have to focus on this in particular.

@mtgentryDec 15.2005 — If you study graphic design you can always learn how to code later. Programs that try to combine the two usually fall way short. But only study design if you know you've got some sort of artistic prowess, otherwise its a waste of your time.
