what should i do….

Don’t think I posted this here, but I’m after someone’s opinion on whether I would benefit from creating the site using php, mysql etc, I started teaching myself this and read some info on cms.
Basically I was hoping that if it was in a database form or something then maybe it would be easier to update the gig list and adding new cd’s etc. At the moment it’s not a pain to update in dreamweaver but also being able to programme the site in a different language would help me with my learning curve.

@bokehDec 13.2005 — Php is great if you want to share the common elements of your site between pages. MySQL is also great for changing content.

The downside is server load is greater and loading is slower with php. MySQL slows things further. Also with html pages apache handles the sending of 304 responses (which saves bandwidth), with php pages that is not the case so most people waste loads of bandwidth.

By the way your Music page contains invalid mark up which may affect your search engine ranking.

@NogDogDec 13.2005 — Generally speaking, I do not find the server load to be a noticeable problem unless you are dealing with a very large database and/or your queries are very complex or poorly conceived.
