i’m having extreme difficulty trying to position my images into my 3 column layout with a footer.

i would like to overlap one image over another image, which overlaps the colored column.

what is the best way to position images into a column outside of their box?

if possible, i’d like it compatible for i.e., and other browsers, so it doesn’t break up.

i’ve tried absolute positioning but it doesn’t seem to work.

@NogDogDec 09.2005 — You might need to draw me a picture to understand what you really need, but it sounds as if maybe setting a negative margin on the image would do the trick?

@fatbottomsauthorDec 09.2005 — this is basically what i want, but for some reason i can't position my arrow buttons underneath the strip, not to mention, the back arrow button doesn't even show up.

nor, can i position the dropdown.

i wanted to overlap the two images, but after seriously contemplating suicide, i just combined the images in photoshop instead.

if anybody can slog through this cluster-f@#$, good luck.

i'm using i.e. but it won't even show up in firefox or mozilla.

@LJKDec 09.2005 — Hi -

Yeah, I tried to get an alternate going for you...

but having so many large images makes it pretty

inflexible. [attchd.]

Positioning is possible - just takes practice! ;-)

Good luck,

El

@fatbottomsauthorDec 10.2005 — hey, i really appreciate you taking the time to write up an alternate page for me, it really helped me out a lot with understanding divisions and containers.

i noticed you left out the css background colored block that sits at the bottom of the images at the left.

can i subsitute the css blocks in the (background: ) instead of using the (url)?

if so, how would i do this?
