WebDings character won’t display correctly

This code works ok in IE but not in other browsers. It’s supposed to display the up-arrow character from WebDings. Can anyone tell me why it doesn’t work consistently? Thanks.

<font face=’webdings’ size=’2′ color=’white’ style=’font-weight: bold;’>5</font>

@ShrineDesignsDec 05.2005 — they will only be displayed in IE and if that user has that font installed on their system

use an image instead
