I want to know about inserting search options in web pages.How this,s accomplished?My question might seem silly but I don,t care.Often we see search fields on web pages.Is it possible with javascript or some databases,re involved?Plz. guide me?Thanks.

If you use a server side scripting language to run the search then you can either have it search the actual page content (very slow) or have a separate program that you run that extracts the essential search info from the pages into a file or database that the search function then searches eg. http://www.felgall.com/php4.htm
