Some form text boxes are white/some yellow.

? I have created a form, and for the life of me I cannot understand why some of the text boxes display yellow and others are white when viewed in different browsers. I definitely want all of the boxes to display with a white background, because the yellow looks bad with my page design.

I feel silly when these things happen to me, but for the life of me, I can’t see what is happening.

I will really appreciate any help I can get.

Thank you.

To your CSS, add

<i>
</i>input {background:#fff;}

Does that not take care of it?

@corkiesmomauthorDec 01.2005 — MstrBob,

I have started using CSS as much as I can, but I'm teaching myself in my spare time. So, although I use CSS for formatting my text and whatever else I have learned thus far, I don't know how to position things yet.

So, I am embarrassed to have to say this, but I used a table to create my form. Do you have any other suggestions?

Thank you very much.

The yellow boxes may be yellow because some toolbars (Google Toolbar) Have auto form fillers and the yellow boxes are fields that the toolbar can fill in for you . If that makes sense...

Aye, but you can still create a stylesheet and put that in their. Because CSS is the only reliable way to get those fields white. Unless its an extension to the browser, as was said, but if that's the case and they're overwriting your CSS theirs squat you can do. And said people will be accustomed to weird forms.

I appreciate your input and would LOVE to learn CSS! I have bought and read "The Zen of CSS Design", "Web Standards Solutions", and other CSS books, but I have yet (perhaps I am just too dense) to find a helpful-enough resource.

Do you have any suggestions? How did you learn CSS? I understand that I am missing out - big time - without this knowledge.

Thanks so much.

I learned via W3Schools, the CSS 2 Specification, and a lot of fooling around.

I learned from a bunch of different places. I read this book and I went to www.csszengarden.com and observed tons of different design's CSS. right now I'm working on my own design for the Zen ?
