Keeping text in layers

I am new here, and am so glad to have found this forum.
I hope to get to know you all better over time.

I am having a problem currently with keeping text inside layers when viewed under different screen resolutions.

My preferred layout can be seen at higher resolutions at – [URL=http://www.britishwebmarketing.co.uk/ezine/]original layout[/URL] , but the text overspills the background layer when viewed in lower resolutions.

I then tried a [URL=http://www.britishwebmarketing.co.uk]different format[/URL] and lost the image, but the same still happens.
