Lov validation in html form

Hi
i am new to html.i have created a questionaire in html with 10 question and for every question i have created a list of values for rating purpose, containing 1 to 70 values.
now i want to create a submit button at the bottom of page which should check that the total value for all 10 questions must not be greater than 70.in in case it happens then an alert should be displayed.i dont need any server side validation every thing is on client side.
