FTP .htacces

How do you ftp a .htacces and .htpasswd file. Everytime i try to it says Error:Server thinks you don’t have permission to do this action. Thanks.

@SerrelliousNov 01.2005 — I know that some web-hosts do not allow you to access and modify the .htaccess file, even if you're the root admin of your site. More than likely, that's the case. You'd have to (obviously) contact your host about this, though.

Past that, I dunno.
