( Looking For A Code )

Hello all,
I need a JavaScript. I’ll accept PHP if I have to. I need a search engine for my website. I would like to be able to have my own custom search form page and custom results page. Not generated by the code. I would like for users to be able to search my entire site through a search box I have. I need the results to display the following: ( Page Name, Page Description, Meta Info, Quote of sentance result found in, Date page was last updated, How many times page has been viewed ). I would like if someone could fix up a code for me real quick and not just give me a link to somewhere else. If you could help I would greatly appreitiate it. Just post an attachment or post the coding and I’ll give it a try. Thank you. ?

@NevermoreApr 24.2003 — I have made a JavaScript search engine generator which can search up to 8 pages and it is on my site (see sig). However, if you wait a few days, I will post some PHP code for one.

@JickauthorApr 25.2003 — Your script is really nice but its not quite what I'm looking for so could someone else suggest a script or make one for me? Thanks. ?

@NevermoreApr 25.2003 — As I said, I will post some PHP (if I can), but do you have a file that you are using as a hit counter? And how much of the meta tags do you want to display?

@JickauthorApr 25.2003 — I want to post only like the first couple words. I do not have a hit counter but I have been looking for a good one. Thanks for your help! BTW I will also still accept answers from any body else. I need to keep my options open. ?

@khalidali63Apr 25.2003 — you should be willing to extend some $$$ to the person who will create this type of custom solution for you..I think..?

@NevermoreApr 26.2003 — I'm having problems building a PHP script to search files. Why not use the free google site search?

@NevermoreApr 26.2003 — I think I'm back on track to making it - give me a few days... (LOL). I need to know a few things though:

How much text do you want to display from a file if it finds a match?

How are you going to store hits?

Do you really want to use meta tags? they could easily get confused. Would you mind filling in an array of descriptions instead?

And lastly, does anyone know how to find the lastmodified date of a file in PHP? I can do it in JavaScript, but not PHP.

Will post the code when I can. I'm nearly there. Just a few more things to get sorted...

P.S. My plan is to put all of the variables (bgcolor etc) for the results page in another document and access them with include or require. Is this the sort of thing you wanted?

@pyroApr 26.2003 — You use filemtime(). You can read about it here: http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.filemtime.php

@JickauthorApr 26.2003 — In answer to Cijori:

1: Display a couple words from the sentance that the word is in and highlight the word.

2: I don't have a hit counter but you could coaxs something up. I would accept anything.

3: Whatever would be eaiser metatags, arrays.

Thanks for your help. Just post if you need to know any thing else. ?
