Exctracting data from webpage to Excel

Hi,

I am new to web developments so please excuse my lack of knowledge.

I am trying to find a way to extract data from a web site that I log in to run, some tests and I would like to extract the test results (which are in multiple pages, rows and columns) into Excel for offline analysis.

What programming Language (java script ??) or Utility should I use to accomplish this.

If possible I would like to be able to automate loging in to the website, navigating to the particular test from a list of tests and then successively extracting data from the multiple pages.
