@LiLcRaZyFuZzYOct 23.2005 — first you install, php and a server(e.g. Apache) on your computer, which you can get from http://apache.org and you can get php from http://php.net

Follow the steps, get the php manual, also available for download on their site (under documentation) -> there are notes about installation, different version of php, etc..

And a "getting started" part, which can be very handy.

good luck, and post here if you have questions

@rumakeOct 23.2005 — It would be better to use appserv - automatical installer of php, apache and mysql (free). http://www.appservnetwork.com/

I'm working with AppServ 2.4.4a

Best book for learning php: W.J. Gilmore - A Programmer's Introduction to PHP 4.0

Im sorry for my poor english.

@pointfiftyaeOct 23.2005 — Not poor at all! (not worse than mine anyway ?) Is appserv secure enough ? I saw that php did recommend installing it manually..

@rumakeOct 24.2005 — yes, there's no secure problems

@LiLcRaZyFuZzYOct 24.2005 — it's not much a problem of security, but more of giving one more choices, which version of php, which version of mysql, etc..
