@Stephen_PhilbinOct 23.2005 — Depends what you mean. Secure storage of data? Or Secure connection to and from the server? Or both?

@ladywebmasterauthorOct 23.2005 — A secure area meaning password protected for a "member's only" area. The web site is for a H.O.G. chapter, and their newsletter needs to be in a secure area so that no one but members may access it. I realize the server has to support secure connections, but my question is how do I develop a password accessable page in an existing web site?

@LiLcRaZyFuZzYOct 23.2005 — you'll have to use a server-side language and verify at each page if a certain session variable is defined.

This session variable is only defined if users log in.

If they try to access the page, but are not logged in, you could redirect them to the log in page.

@ray326Oct 23.2005 — You can use Basic Authentication with .htaccess and .htpasswd if your web server and web hosting service permit it.
