Yet another Jukebox question

I have looked at eevry post containing ‘jukebox’ and have found none that addresses my problem. First, I’m an old mainfame/supermini programmer but haven’t yet tried Javascript.

To paint a picture of my need, consider a dance party DJ with a library of carefully selected tunes on local hard drive. Also a database, text file or Excel spreadsheet. All this on a laptop connected to a power amp, etc.

DJ selects a song and starts a playlist.

Dancer requests a song.

DJ looks up by keyword (in Excel, say) and excel record provides file name. DJ punches magic button and file name is added to end of play list playlist. DJ, being a good one, watches floor and continues to select songs the crowd dances to and adds them to the playlist, extending it.

Simple. Huh?

Any help/suggestions/offers will be appreciated.

Thanks

Jay
