Image scrolling for NS6,IE5 and lower

I like what you have done with your javascript :http://www.javascriptsource.com/
scrolls/scrolling-image.html
What I need is a version that will also work with NS6 and IE5 which do not have layers. I know there must be some scripting tricks to add to new if statements for the newer browsers.

I mistakedly posted this inially to the graphics forum, but its really a scripting issue, more than a graphics one.

@JonaApr 22.2003 — This script is probably possible in Netscape 4. However, if the browser does not support layers, this script will most likely not work. [By the way, are you sure this script does not work in NS6 or IE5?]

When I bring up the page on my NS6 it does not scroll. It does work on my IE6, though.?! When I searched up on the W3 links, they expressly say that layers are dropped for NS6 & IE5. I know that there has to be a different way to do this. I have tried several and failed. I am hooked on NS vs. IE, and on version NS6, so I still have a problem.
