syntax for calling functions

Hi – I can’t remember the rule, or where to find it:

Sometimes a function is called with an ampersand, sometimes without. Can you point me to a reference that explains?

thx,
Sam

@strBeanauthorOct 06.2005 — Sorry - I misspoke myself. I meant the @ symbol.

example, with @:

$qryCheckHit = @mysql_query($sqlCheckHit)

without @:

$numThreads = mysql_num_rows($qryThreads)

What's the rule?

@bokehOct 06.2005 — the @ suppresses errors
