People have been talking about something you can download so that you can work on ASP files offline on your harddrive. I would really like this, but I’m not sure where to download it at. I can at Microsoft’s website, right??
@RoddersNov 22.2002 — #I'm positive if you got to Microsoft.com, you can get PWS (Personal Web Server) which works on Win95. I downloaded it and run it under WinME, but it has restrictions. Unfortunately I don't think you can use the email/SMTP functions.
@punkpie_ukNov 22.2002 — #PWS only incorporates ASP 2 which is a downside. I'm not sure if you'll be able to use it on Windows 95 though... if you can get a copy of the Windows 98 Disk you'll find it on there.
On the other hand you could try a third party tool like Chili!ASP http://www.chilisoft.com/ but the downside is that it only works with NTFS (or NT or 2000 anyway ? ) so it looks like you might be stuck.
You could try a Win98 update or can't your PC work with it?
@Zach_ElfersauthorNov 24.2002 — #My internet speed is 56k, I have an old clunky NEC with about 1.57 gig capacity, but right now, only about 500 mb of free space.
[B]I asked about the type and speed of your CPU (your computer's internal processor) not the type of your computer and the speed of your Internet connection. Any upgrade to your operating system is going to have to take into consideration the minimum hardware requirements of the new operating system you'll be upgrading to. Even then, the minimum requirements do not provide sufficient processing power to operate a personal server, too.

I would like to get an upgrade as soon as possible. I don't know my CPU speed. How do I access info on that?
@Zach_ElfersauthorNov 26.2002 — #Just a dumb question. I know this server will let me test ASP, etc., offline, but could I ACTUALLY use this as a server?
