getting i beam position on a <textarea>

Hello everyone, i was wonderting if there is a way to get the i beam
position (row#, col#) using javascript.
I am sort of making a html editor online and i would like to provide a
status bar with info about where exactly the i beam is, thank you.

Safari, Omniweb, and Konqueror do not have a way to do this.
