SLL certificate useage

I understand the basic use/need for SLL certificate but I don’t understand the scope of its useage. My question:

If I get an SLL certificate can it be used to any activity in one domain? or one DNS number? or one business entity? What are the limitations? If I have 3 people sharing my webspace, 3 domains, all wanting to do e-commerce, can we share the same SLL certificate?

@ray326Sep 19.2005 — It's for a single IP address and a single host name. The easy way to see how it works is to go to a secure server then examine its cert information.
