Compatibility of showModalDialog() command

Can anyone tell me whether showModalDialog() command is cross-browser compatible, or whether it is one of those IE-only features?

On that note, if you could advise a good reference site to check these kinds of things for Netscape, etc… that would be appreciated (Microsoft has a good reference site at msdn.microsoft.com/library/)

@VicauthorSep 13.2005 — Here is an excellent reference on modal windows, which also answers the above questions (showModalDialog is IE-only, argh!)

I would still appreciate any thouhgts on a good language reference sites for Opera, Firefox, etc...
